THE BENEFITS OF READING CULTURE

            In 2018, Indonesia is ranked 60^th out of  61 interest in reading in Asia. Its very sad, the government should follow up on this. Reading is a good tradition, not only for students but all age’s, starting from early childhood to people who are old.

In this modern era, people have been affected by the advancement of technology, wrongs in the use of technology is one of the factors causing a lack of interest in reading, even thought technology can be scientific reading media if used properly. At least there are three reason the writer agree attach importance to this.

Reading is storehouse of knowledge, without reading we will not to know anything. Not a few people talk a lot about something but they don’t know the meaning or purpose of what they are talking about, this is what called verbalism. Do not let us belong to that grup. What we read is what will become our knowledge, this is what reading is storehouse of knowledge.

Reading is a speaking tool, according to experts in the field of psychology, one of the factors driving people to be able to speak in public is reading, because of reading that the data transfer process takes place, so the concept in mind is there when you want to speak. Therefore if you want to be good at public speaking then speaking is key.

Reading is medicine for stress, many people think of watching comedy of something else will help from the stress. Thought there are other ways that are cheaper and increase knowledge, namely by reading books. Todays there are many books that offer various type of interesting reading from comics and so on. So try to entertain yourself with something more useful.

Finaly, from these three reason, don’t les us eliminate the culture of literacy, especially in this country, at least with the motivation above can help Indonesia to improve the quality of reading levels. So that Indonesia is able to compete with other countries.
